Supporting EU/EEA nationals in immigration detention
TRAINING FOR VISITORS
We are delighted to have partnered with the EU Commission to offer a training session for visitors groups from all over the UK, on how to support EU/EEA nationals held in immigration detention in the UK.
This is a tailored training for visitors/ befrienders who are part of the visitors' groups only! This will be delivered by a solicitor with the long experience of supporting people in immigration detention.
Objectives
At the end of this course delegates will be able to;

Better understand current policy and practice on when an EU/ EEA national can be detained; Recognise the needs of EU/EEA nationals in immigration detention;

Have had an opportunity to share your experiences and feel more confident in your role as a visitor to support people in detention;

Better understand the other support available to EU nationals residing in the UK – and how to signpost to the external organizations, etc.
